Ownership change and terms update

Travelbug has recently been sold to Travel Booking Services 2016 LP (“TBS”). The TBS team includes the founders of the hugely successful Torpedo7 and 1-day e-commerce businesses.

What does this mean for me?

We’re updating our Travelbug terms and conditions and Privacy policy on 5 December to refer to TBS, but these will remain the same in all other aspects.

As part of the sale of Travelbug, the information Trade Me holds in relation to Travelbug memberships will be provided to TBS, who need this information to ensure our accommodation and activity providers can fulfil any future bookings, initiate any chargebacks, and continue to provide customer service and business as usual. This information may include members’ names, email, address, and saved financial details. If you don’t want to have your details passed on, please let us know by 7 December 2016.

If you’re subscribed to marketing emails from Travelbug, the TBS team will be in touch after 7 December 2016, just in time for summer! If you don’t want to receive these, you can unsubscribe.

We launched Travelbug in 2007, and have had nine years of providing Travelbug travellers with a great service. We’re looking forward to TBS using their considerable experience in e-commerce to grow Travelbug, and we wish them (and you!) all the best.
